Belgium employment slips slightly compared with the same period one year ago. The National Social Security Office released its new employment barometer this week.
Average employed workers in September fell roughly fifteen thousand below last year.
The decline appeared across every age group except workers over retirement age. All three regions saw shrinking employment, Brussels and Wallonia declining more sharply.
Employment relationships also dropped across both private and public sectors this September. Federal public employment fell most sharply, dropping by one point two percent.
