Belgium reports that one quarter of newly approved practitioners hold foreign diplomas. Federal health agency data covered professional licenses from twenty twenty to twenty twenty-five.

Officials said twenty-five point five percent of licenses went to foreign-trained applicants.

Among general practitioners and specialists, roughly twenty-two percent held foreign basic diplomas. Dentistry showed a higher share, nearly forty-five percent holding foreign master's degrees.

Romania, Netherlands, and Italy were the leading foreign medical training countries overall. License holding does not guarantee that doctors actually practice within Belgium's borders.
