Liberian Flagged Tanker Banda Refloated Off Türkiye's Black Sea Coast

Stranded tanker Banda, flagged in Liberia, successfully refloated off Türkiye's coast todayMassive vessel ran aground in Black Sea due to severe weather conditions.

Rescue operations off Istanbul's Sarıyer Kısırkaya coast began after thorough underwater surveys.

Coast Guard divers, a rescue expert, and several vessels joined the operation. Tugboats including Şark and Kurtarma Eight helped refloat the stranded tanker safely.

Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced the rescue mission succeeded fully today. Banda tanker was floated and is now safe from Black Sea grounding.
