New regulations define at which speed drivers will receive penalties on highways.
On highways, enforcement starts when speed reaches at least one hundred twenty-nine kilometers. Other roads require exceeding legal limit by at least seven kilometers for penalties.
Other nations maintain lower levels of technical tolerance, according to safety institute Vias. Vias advocates reducing tolerances, noting radar devices are now more technologically accurate.
