Bulgaria ranks among Europe's most overcrowded housing nations, according to Eurostat data. Thirty-five percent of Bulgaria's residents live in crowded homes, data recently shows.

Across the European Union, the average stood at sixteen point eight percent.

Eurostat defines overcrowding using room requirements for households, couples, and single adults. Young Bulgarians aged fifteen to twenty-nine face heavier overcrowding than older residents.

Young Bulgarians typically leave parental homes around age twenty-seven, later than Europeans. In Finland, young people leave earliest at twenty-one, while Croatia reaches thirty-one.
