Remote Work Becomes Permanent Across Belgium After Pandemic, Says Brussels Institute

Permanent remote work arrangements reshape Brussels after virus pandemic, says new research. Over half of Brussels residents and commuters worked remotely during the year twenty twenty-five.

Before the pandemic, only one in four people worked remotely occasionally each month.

When coronavirus began, remote work also increased significantly across Flanders and Wallonia regions. By twenty twenty-one, remote working rates in Brussels surpassed sixty percent of employees.

Intense remote work grew tenfold compared to pre-pandemic levels in two thousand nineteen. Constant full-time remote work remains extremely rare despite these dramatic, long-term changes.
