Police at Romania's Calafat Border Crossing detained eighteen undocumented foreign migrants together. Migrants hid inside the cargo area of a Ukrainian-plated transport truck unnoticed.
Authorities discovered their nationalities were either Syrian or Iraqi, according to police.
The vehicle was carrying paper products from Türkiye to Slovakia during inspection procedures. Checks revealed none of the eighteen individuals had valid travel or entry documents.
All migrants and the Turkish citizen truck driver were detained at the border facility. Officials stated the detainees await transfer to Bulgarian authorities, investigation still ongoing.
