Belgium faces rising inflation as energy price increases continue affecting economy broadly. Statbel released new data, revealing inflation rose more significantly this September period.

August inflation was nearly four percent; September saw figures close to five percent.

Most noticeable price surges were in fuel, gas, electricity, and organized travel expenses. Conversely, falling prices of plane tickets, meat, drinks have eased cost pressure.

Core inflation, excluding volatile components, increased slightly when compared to recent months' levels. The adjusted health index also climbed, setting new thresholds for salary automatic adjustments.
