Spanish strawberries have notably lower pesticide residues across Europe, new report shows. Eighty-eight percent of European strawberry samples contained pesticide residues, according researchers’ analysis.

Spanish samples reported significantly fewer residues, only two conventional examples tested positive.

Organic strawberries in Spain and other countries showed no pesticide residues at all. Researchers found over half contained chemicals listed as highest risk by European Union.
